If you are new to the world of juicing, you may not want to jump straight into a cleanse. Depending on your prior diet habits this could cause stomach and gut disturbances. At Greenheart juice we are well versed on the ins and outs of juicing and can help your cleanse be a smooth process.
Planning is the key to success. Plan your raw juice cleanse a little in advanced. In the week or so approaching your cleanse have a juice daily. This approach will get your body use to all the extra nutrients you will be receiving during your cleanse. It will also allow your body to learn that these healthy foods are tasty and good! Try our Forever Young juice. It is containing the two powerful digestive aids aloe and pineapple. It also has cucumber and a coconut water base to make it ultra-hydrating and cooling. If you find yourself ready for more of a kick, try the Pink Pomelo with grapefruit, pear, mint, and lime!
Drink your water!
While juice has amazing and unique benefits, the simplicity of water consumption is still necessary. In the weeks prior to your cleanse and during your cleanse, still aim for 8-10 glasses of water a day. If you’re struggling to reach this bench-mark, try keeping a reusable bottle handy and setting reminders on your phone. Jazz up your water by adding squeezed lemon, fresh mint, diced strawberries to add a smooth, subtle flavor. You can also cold steep herbal tea. Do this by dropping a bag in your water and just letting it incrusted without heat. Also note what temperature you prefer to drink water and make accommodations for yourself. You may want an insulate cup or flask if you prefer cold water.
Catch some Zzzs.
Believe it or not your sleeping habits effect your gut health. If you are not getting 8 hours of sleep each night aspects of your diet could be futile. Establishing a sleep routine could help with a better night of rest. Try some sensory therapy. Take a bath in a lavender and Epsom salt bath, cozy up with a soft blanket, listen to so calming music, and darken your room. You could also add our Cashew Chai which is loaded with ayurvedic chai spices like cardamom, ginger, cloves and cinnamon which have been known to ease digestion and have a calming effect on the body. This caffeine-free treat is perfect before bed time after a day of cleansing or leading up to a cleanse.
The coffee culprit.
Before you start cold-pressed juice cleanse, you may need to evaluate your relationship with coffee. Coffee can be consumed in a manner that is not contrary to detoxifying our bodies. However, sometimes that’s not the case. Many people add heavy dairy and sugar to their drinks that cause them to be inflammatory and unhealthy. If that’s you, try subbing for a dairy-free alternative with a natural sweetener like maple syrup, honey, or coconut sugar. This will help your body be better prepared for cleansing and detoxification. Our Cold Brew Latte is a great choice for this transition. Before you begin a cleanse, decide which consecutive days of the week will work best for you. Choose days you will be able to distract yourself from cravings. You can distract yourself by doing a devotional, meditating, working on a project, or trying some yoga. However, you must also be prepared to take it easy. Rest is just important during the cleanse as it is leading up to the cleanse. If you can remove any unhealthy food temptations from your home or work place do that. The goal would that you would not necessarily be returning to these anyway.
